Treatment for moderate to severe acne scarring and premature aging.

A revolutionary treatment from Australia, many years in evolution introduced in recent months to the UK. The treatment was developed for burns patients (adults and children) to hasten the healing of challenging deeper burn wounds in one easy bedside treatment.

It has been so successful that it is now being applied to other conditions where the top layer of the skin (the epidermis and dermis) need treatment.

Please note that this treatment is new and as such results may vary but are extremely promising. Careful selection is needed as there is 7 days of down time and the face is dressed after treatment. In addition due to the introductory stage in the UK we will be following up applications very carefully for many months with questionnaires.

It involves:

1. Resurfacing the skin deeply using laser. Sedation is needed and the face is numbed with aesthetic.
2. A skin graft is taken from behind the ear. This graft is key to the treatment as it contains stem cells which are used to resurface the skin by growing new skin. The graft and the laser treatment are undertaken as one step.
   
3. The graft is placed in a special liquid which is inserted into a syringe and sprayed onto the resurfaced face.
4. The whole are is covered in a special dressing which remains intact for three to five days. The treatment takes about seventy-five minutes
5. You cannot go out in that time.
6. Precautions with long term sun exposure is needed.
