Treating Acne Scarring
Acne scarring remains a very challenging area to treat in spite of many advances in medicine and cosmetic science. All treatments can only effect improvement and not fully eradicate the scar. There are many myths about treatment of acne scarring.
There is no substitute to a good consultation that looks at you individually, your ethnic back ground, skin and general health.
Below is a spectrum of possible treatment, some may not be right for you. In some cases a blend of treatments may be needed. On the face scarring is sully worst over the cheeks and temples but can occur anywhere.
There is no easy fix or any one-off treatment to treat acne scarring. If you still have live acne it is preferable to control this first and prevent future scarring. There is no substitute to good skin care that is not over drying or harsh. Unfortunately many products do just that, dehydrate the skin, and sensitize it with harsh alcohol based ingredients.

Starting treatment sooner rather than later is probably better for most people before the scar matures.
Peels and Scrubs: No chemical peeling, even strong TCA peels will improve scarring. Whilst this may be a proach to improve the skin overall, help with pores, control oil secretion it will not promote healing within the scar tissue.
DERMAROLLER© is a highly effective way to treat scarring of all skin and ethnic types. Usually 3- 5 treatments are needed. This will help generally with pores as well. This can be an uncomfortable treatment, that needs local anaesthetic or a dental block to numb the cheeks which are usually worst affected. Each treatment takes approximately 30-45 minutes.

The cutting edge fractionate laser protes healing all over by coring out microspic tunnels of tissue which then heal in. Caution must be exercised with darker skin skins. It can only be performed when you are tan free & not planning a sunny holiday for at least 2 months. Usually 2 -3 treatments are needed 3-4 months apart, but there is flexibility on this.

Filling can be used all over the affected area and is a good safe of effecting smoothing the scar tissue by injecting a tiny amount of product though the scar tissue so it lies underneath it and makes it less prominent. This process probably promotes collagen formation too
